Tekken Hybrid Preview: Character Art & Screens

Will there ever be too much Tekken? Not here at The Daily Zombies. Prepare yourself this November for an assault of the senses with a spectacular Tekken double-bill.

For the Tekken fans in dire anticipation of the Tekken: Blood Vengeance, the full-length CG animated feature film in Digital 3D, and the upcoming arcade release of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, here's some terrific news for you: Namco Bandai will be releasing Tekken Hybrid, a a special Blu-ray Disc bundled with both the Tekken: Blood Vengeance movie and a HD remake of the original Tekken Tag Tournament to further intensify fan's anticipation for the arcade release of the sequel. Needless to say, while the Blu-ray Disc can be played on any Blu-ray player, the HD remake of the PlayStation 2 classic can only be playable only by running the disc on a PlayStation 3 console.

The plot, which takes place between the events of Tekken 5 and Tekken 6, follows Ling Xiaoyu as she is tasked by the G Corporation to infiltrate an international school in Kyoto to gather information on a mysterious student named Kamiya Shin. Before she can make any progress in the investigation, Shin is kidnapped by an unknown assailant. Digging deeper into Shin’s background in an attempt to rescue him, Xiaoyu teams up with Alisa Bosconovitch and learns about the frightening underbelly of the Mishima Zaibatsu and the conspiracy behind the Mishima family.

TEKKEN® HYBRID EXCLUSIVE FOR PlayStation®3

TEKKEN® Tag Tournament HD to Release
with TEKKEN® Blood Vengeance 3D Movie in Fall 2011

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (June 7, 2011) – NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., today announced that TEKKEN® Hybrid, a collection of the new full-length 3D compatible feature film TEKKEN® Blood Vengeance 3D, TEKKEN® Tag Tournament HD, and additional content yet to be announced, will be releasing on Blu-Ray exclusively for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system this November. TEKKEN Tag Tournament HD is a high-definition remake of the PlayStation®2 classic, TEKKEN Tag Tournament.

TEKKEN Blood Vengeance 3D will be presented as a special NCM Fathom event for one night only in over 375 theaters across North America on July 26 before a home entertainment Blu-Ray release as part of the TEKKEN Hybrid set, and as a standalone DVD release from BANDAI Entertainment Inc. Set in the rich Tekken universe, TEKKEN Blood Vengeance 3D follows Xiaoyu Ling, seasoned martial artist and high school student, tasked by the G Corporation to infiltrate an international school in Kyoto to gather information on the mysterious student Shin Kamiya. Before she can make any progress in the investigation, Shin is kidnapped by an unknown assailant. Digging deeper into Shin's background in an attempt to rescue him, Xiaoyu learns about the frightening underbelly of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima...and the late Heihachi Mishima's conspiracy that's stained with blood.

Created in full CG, TEKKEN Blood Vengeance 3D is being produced by Digital Frontier (Resident Evil: Degeneration, Death Note and Appleseed), with the screenplay written by Dai Sato (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Cowboy Bebop) and the score composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto (Ogre Battle, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Tekken 6). Directing the project will be Youichi Mouri, who directed the opening movies for both Tekken® 5 and Tekken® 6: Bloodline Rebellion. Tickets for the TEKKEN Blood Vengeance 3D special cinema event, plus a complete list of locations, are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com.
