The city of Dallas is located at the heart of Texas and it is popular for beautiful high rise buildings with impressive architecture, lush green parks, Dallas Zoo, White Rock, Bachman and 15 other lakes, and the Great Trinity Forest, which is one of the largest urban forests in the world.

In the year 1888, the first and largest zoo of Texas was established in Dallas. The Dallas Zoo is situated in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas and it covers 106 acres of land.

The artificial Great Trinity Forest is the largest urban forest of hardwood in the United States and its area is around 6,000 acres.

There are 17 beautiful lakes in Dallas all situated in parks of the city. The total area under water of these lakes is about 4,400 acres.

The Cedar Hill State Park is situated in the Joe Pool Reservoir.

This park is maintained by Texas Parks and Wildlife which is a Texas state agency. Tourists may enjoy various attractive activities in the park such as activities such as mountain biking, birding, camping and fishing, and swimming.
